The temperature will decrease by 8-10 degrees Celsius compared to the previous day. On December 18, temperatures will continue to drop further.
In Hanoi on December 17, it will be cloudy with rain, scattered showers, and temperatures during the day fluctuating around 18-21 degrees Celsius, a decrease of about 8 degrees Celsius compared to December 16. By December 18, Hanoi's temperature may drop an additional 2-3 degrees Celsius, resulting in severe cold.
A very strong cold air front may push down to the North next weekend, with forecasts of frost appearing in high mountainous areas.
In Lang Son, one of the places to welcome the northeast monsoon earliest in our country, starting from December 17, it will be cloudy with rain, light rain, and temperatures will drop to around 12-18 degrees Celsius. By December 18, temperatures may drop to 11-16 degrees Celsius.
In high mountainous areas, temperatures will drop even lower. Experts predict that this cold spell may bring frost and ice on high mountainous areas.
