One of the exhibitions worth marking in the "journey notebook" for young people in Hanoi during this time is "Heritage Thread". Apart from the artistic space filled with folk paintings, the venue is also a hot check-in spot recently favored by the youth - a colonial villa in the heart of Hanoi.
Heritage ThreadThe exhibition "Heritage Thread" is part of a series of activities commemorating the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution, the 79th anniversary of National Day, and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, organized by the Hoan Kiem Lake Management Board and the Old Quarter of Hanoi in coordination with Latoa Indochine. It showcases more than 60 paintings, giving a new look to the folk paintings of Hang Trong, Dong Ho, and Kim Hoang using lacquer and engraving techniques.
In addition to folk paintings, artists have also brought other perspectives with a series of paintings themed on lotus, lantern dancing, landscapes, characters... The exhibition is open for free from 9 AM to 5 PM every Tuesday to Sunday, on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Cultural Exchange Center of the Old Quarter in Hanoi (49 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem District) - also well-known as the colonial villa.

The venue of the event is also a factor attracting many young people to "Heritage Thread", as it is a trendy check-in spot recently. This villa was built in the early 20th century, almost abandoned and showing signs of serious deterioration. A restoration project was undertaken by the Hoan Kiem Lake Management Board and the Old Quarter of Hanoi (Hoan Kiem District) from 2022. By early this year, this "coordinate" officially opened its doors to visitors.
Joyful Mid-Autumn Festival
"Joyful Mid-Autumn Festival" is an exhibition displaying illustrative paintings with the participation of 47 young artists from both domestic and international, recently held at Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam until September 21. Each painting represents a different style and story, evoking childhood memories for many people or a Mid-Autumn Festival from years past...
Therefore, this will be a trip where you can enjoy beautiful new Mid-Autumn paintings while taking a leisurely stroll around Van Mieu. The "evening with lights" version will be even more sparkling and offer a different perspective, especially during the night tour at Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam.
Line 6 Tram
This is not an exhibition, but it is also a "coordinate" worth visiting during this trip in Hanoi. "Line 6 Tram" is a project, a space for displaying and experiencing Hanoi's culinary culture, directed by the People's Committee of Truc Bach Ward. The train carriage is open for free, from 3 PM to 10 PM daily, located at the intersection of Ngu Xa - Truc Bach, right in the area of the night food street on Ngoc Island Ngu Xa (Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh District).

"Line 6 Tram - Subsidized Carriage: Kitchen - Shelves - Plates" makes a strong impression right from its nostalgic setup. The first floor of the carriage is a place for "miniature museum" exhibits, showcasing old artifacts. These items are collected or donated by local residents. Outside is an area arranged like a newspaper stall, playing chess... taking visitors "back in time" to a corner of Hanoi during the subsidy period. There are also nostalgic images like original iron poles, Phoenix bicycles...

The second floor is a culinary experience and sightseeing area. The dishes are prepared to mimic a typical family meal from the subsidy period. The plates, shelves... all the smallest utensils in the "Subsidized Carriage" bring an antique character to the space.

The "Line 6 Tram" project will continue to expand in the future. Besides the "Subsidized Carriage", there will be 7 more carriages arranged along Truc Bach street. Each carriage will have a different theme carrying heritage, serving as a "miniature museum" of Hanoi's culture and cuisine.
