Tin du lịch  Check-in at the artisanal coffee shop belonging to the "four giants" of coffee in Hanoi's Old Quarter.

Mentioning the four great coffee houses Nhân - Nhĩ - Dĩ - Năng in the old quarter of Hanoi, one cannot forget to mention the Năng coffee shop, which has nearly 70 years of history.

Located on the small Hang Bac street, the charming Năng coffee shop, with its cozy atmosphere, is a familiar gathering place for coffee lovers. The coffee here is traditionally roasted and ground chè coffee.
Grandfather Năng, the founder of the shop, originally worked as a chef. Inherited the coffee profession from his father-in-law, he and his wife opened a small shop on Hang Bac street. Later on, the shop moved to 45 Nguyễn Hữu Huân, offering a more spacious environment. Up to now, there are two stores on Hang Bac named Năng Tường and Năng coffee at 77B Nguyễn Hữu Huân run by the descendants continuing the family trade.
“The process of selecting coffee is very important; the beans must be round, shiny, and have a brownish color. When smelling, the aroma of Năng coffee is not too strong, with a light fragrance, so when combined with condensed milk, it creates a sweet flavor that everyone can easily enjoy,” shared the owner of the shop on Nguyễn Hữu Huân street.

The shop mainly serves regular customers, often referred to as “addicts” to coffee. Every day, either in the morning or early afternoon, familiar faces gather at the shop, savoring their cup of bitter coffee while observing the bustling life in the old quarter.
Each customer has their own distinct taste; some prefer strong black iced coffee, while others opt for brown coffee, or women might enjoy a bạc xỉu while soaking in the atmosphere of Hanoi, sharing countless stories about life.

When visiting Năng, tourists cannot miss the egg coffee. The creamy texture of the egg blended with the mild bitterness of coffee creates a unique charm, making foreign visitors very excited.
Since 1956, although many coffee brewing methods have been introduced from other countries into Vietnam, Năng coffee has retained its traditional identity as pure coffee brewed with a bit of sugar or whipped condensed milk, allowing patrons to enjoy it.
Mayu Saito, a tourist from Japan, shared on Tripadvisor: “Both my husband and I love coffee; every time we come to Vietnam, we dedicate our weekends to enjoy coffee at Năng. The flavors make me love and remember it when I return to Japan.”
