With the theme "Ha Nam - Local Cultural Destination," the 2024 Culture and Tourism Week is expected to be held on September 7 in Phu Ly City with many lively and attractive cultural and sports activities.
Mai Thanh Chung, Director of the Ha Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated that the highlight and most awaited part of the 2024 Culture and Tourism Week is the opening ceremony with the art program "Radiant Ha Nam," occurring on the evening of September 7 at Nguyen Van Linh Street (Lam Ha Ward, Phu Ly City).
It is expected that nearly 10,000 spectators will attend. The program will announce and award the Asia and World Tourism Awards for 2023, as well as a certificate for the "Ha Nam - Local Cultural Destination" award for Ha Nam. Notably, for the first time, Ha Nam will organize a high-altitude fireworks display for visitors and residents to enjoy.
Within the framework of the 2024 Culture and Tourism Week, there will be 10 cultural, sports, and tourism activities organized, including: a conference to promote and attract investment and develop tourism in Ha Nam associated with the Culture and Tourism Week; the street festival - Ha Nam Carnival; national sports competitions such as: the 2024 National Women's Futsal Championship, the national youth Rowing and Canoeing championship, the national U19 Women's Football Championship, the Ha Nam Martial Arts Festival; the launch of the "All People Practice Physical Exercise Following the Great Uncle Ho" movement; summary of the logo and slogan contest for Ha Nam tourism; a conference to promote investment in tourism development in Ha Nam…
According to Truong Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee, the 2024 Ha Nam Culture and Tourism Week is organized to introduce, promote, and attract tourists and investors to the locality; at the same time, to raise awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, and the people in preserving and promoting the ethnic cultural identity and natural resources for tourism development.
According to updated data from the Ha Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in the first 8 months of 2024, the estimated number of visitors to the locality reached over 4,061,500 turns (achieving 94.45% of the 2024 annual plan); of which, international visitors reached 97,000 turns, and domestic visitors were 3,964,500 people. The total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 3.118 trillion VND (achieving 94.5% of the 2024 annual plan).
The organization of the 2024 Ha Nam Culture and Tourism Week provides a favorable condition to create momentum for the provincial tourism sector to develop, striving to successfully achieve the set goals in 2024./.
