Ginkgo Leaf Season​

The characteristic yellow of autumn will first appear in Hokkaido, in northern Japan. Accordingly, tourists traveling to Sapporo will have the chance to see the ginkgo trees don their brilliant autumn attire around November 9th—four days later than in previous years. In Tokyo, the ginkgo trees are expected to be at their best around November 23rd to 26th. The yellow leaf season in Osaka is around November 24th, while the yellow leaves in Kyoto will peak on November 27th.

Momiji Red Leaf Season​

To witness the most impressive momiji maple leaf season, travelers should arrange to visit Sapporo around November 12th, almost simultaneously with the ginkgo yellow leaf season. The red leaf season in Tokyo comes a bit later around December 1st, followed by Osaka on December 4th. The autumn scenery in Kyoto will be most beautiful on December 12th.
