On the morning of September 2nd, the flag-hoisting ceremony and salute were held solemnly at Ba Dinh Square with the participation of a large number of people from all over the country.
Today, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, many people from all over the country gathered here, lining up to pay their respects at the Mausoleum of Uncle Ho on the occasion of the 79th National Day on September 2nd.In the cool weather, since more than 4 AM, a large number of citizens had already arrived at Ba Dinh Square to await the flag-hoisting and salute ceremony that took place at 6 AM, before entering the Mausoleum to pay tribute to Uncle Ho.
Choosing Ba Dinh Square as their destination during the holiday, many felt proud and grateful to live in a peaceful, independent, and free country.

The flag escort unit led ahead, followed by 34 soldiers symbolizing the first 34 soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the precursor of the Vietnam People's Army.
